Assistant
Manager – HR
Job Overview
We
are looking for an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager – HR to join our
team in a heavy material manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should
have a minimum of 5 years of HR experience, particularly in recruitment,
performance management systems (PMS), staffing, and generalist HR functions.
Candidates from similar industries such as heavy manufacturing, steel, cement,
or industrial machinery will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
·
Manage the complete recruitment life cycle
including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
·
Lead and support the implementation of the
Performance Management System (PMS), ensuring timely goal-setting and appraisal
processes.
·
Collaborate with department heads to
understand and fulfill staffing requirements.
·
Coordinate manpower planning and resource
allocation as per operational needs.
·
Maintain employee data and prepare HR MIS
reports for management.
·
Ensure compliance with labor laws, factory
rules, and statutory requirements.
·
Support in handling employee relations,
grievance management, and disciplinary actions.
·
Drive employee engagement initiatives and
retention strategies.
·
Assist in implementing HR policies, SOPs, and
best practices across departments.
·
Partner with cross-functional teams to support
organizational development and training initiatives.
Skills & Attributes
·
Strong
knowledge of recruitment strategies and platforms
·
In-depth
understanding of PMS tools and appraisal systems
·
Good knowledge
of staffing and workforce planning in a plant environment
·
Familiarity
with labor laws and compliance in manufacturing setups
·
Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills
·
High
proficiency in HRMS tools and MS Office
·
Problem-solving
attitude and decision-making ability
·
Strong
organizational and multitasking skills
·
Ability to
work effectively in a high-pressure, production-driven environment
Experience Required:
·
Minimum 5 years of experience in HR with
focus on recruitment, PMS, staffing, and employee engagement
·
Must have experience in a heavy material
manufacturing or similar industrial environment
·
Exposure to managing blue-collar workforce and
understanding of plant HR functions is essential
