Job description
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
ETL Tester to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes
across various data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on
experience in ETL processes, SQL, Data Warehousing, and will work closely with
developers, analysts, and data engineering teams to ensure data accuracy,
quality, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand
business and data requirements to design test scenarios and test cases for
ETL processes.
- Perform
data validation and data integrity testing across multiple source and
target systems.
- Validate
data transformations, mappings, and business logic applied during ETL.
- Execute
SQL queries for data comparison, data profiling, and validation.
- Perform
functional, regression, integration, and system testing of ETL workflows.
- Work
closely with Data Engineers, Developers, and Business Analysts to resolve
data inconsistencies.
- Identify,
document, and track defects using tools like JIRA / Azure DevOps /
Bugzilla.
- Participate
in daily stand-ups and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
- Prepare
test reports, data validation summaries, and support UAT activities.
Required Skills:
- Strong
experience in ETL Testing for Data Warehousing / Data Lake environments.
- Proficient
in SQL (must be able to write complex joins, aggregate functions, and data
comparison queries).
- Hands-on
experience in ETL tools such as:
- Informatica
/ Talend / SSIS / DataStage / ADF (any one or more)
- Experience
validating data pipelines, workflows, and transformation rules.
- Strong
understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (Star schema, Snowflake schema,
Fact & Dimension tables).
- Familiarity
with version control tools like Git / Bitbucket.
- Experience
with Agile / Scrum methodology.
Nice to Have:
- Experience
working in Cloud Data Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity
with Big Data ecosystems (Hive, Spark, Databricks).
- Experience
using Power BI / Tableau for data validation.
- Knowledge
of Python for automation is an added advantage.

to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.
