Job description
Energy Storage Lead Candidate Expectations: Candidate should have 10-12 years of experience. B.Tech / M.Tech (Electrical, Energy, Power Systems) or MBA (Power Management, Renewable Energy). Should have experience into Energy storage (BESS & PSP), cost modelling, techno-commercial structuring, and procurement. Should have experience into Sourcing, strategy, costing and Contract management. Should have experience working with IPPs, OEMs, EPCs, Consulting Firms, or Government Agencies in storage procurement & costing Job Description: Develop detailed bottom-up cost models for: Central & State-level FDRE, RTC, Solar+BESS tenders (SECI, NTPC, NHPC, GUVNL, MSEDCL, etc.) Standalone and co-located battery storage (2hr/4hr/6hr+ BESS) Pumped Storage Projects (PSP) cost benchmarking (CAPEX, OPEX, efficiency, cycle life) Evaluate storage technology trade-offs (Li-ion NMC vs LFP, Flow Batteries, Gravity Storage, PSP, etc.). Model charge-discharge cycles, degradation, augmentation, and lifetime costs for FDRE & RTC bids. Provide LCOE and LCOS analysis to support competitive bid pricing. Structure battery storage solutions for C&I consumers under Open Access, Behind-the-Meter (BTM), and Hybrid RE+Storage models. Develop cost-effective solutions for peak shaving, demand charge reduction, backup power, and energy arbitrage. Support regulatory teams in structuring projects under Green Open Access, Net Metering, and Storage-as-a-Service (SaaS) models. Work closely with the supply chain team to ensure cost-competitive procurement of: Battery Storage Systems (Li-ion, Flow, Sodium-ion, etc.) PSP development partners & EPCs PCS/Inverters, EMS, BMS, Battery OEMs (CATL, Tesla, Samsung SDI, Fluence, etc.) Negotiate pricing, warranties, and long-term service agreements with storage OEMs. Evaluate global & domestic supply chains for BESS component localization and PSP project costs.
