Regulatory Strategy & Policy Advocacy Formulate and implement a comprehensive regulatory strategy aligned with the company?s long-term business objectives. Engage proactively with regulatory bodies (DERC, CERC, APTEL, MoP, CEA, NITI Aayog) to shape policy frameworks that support business growth. Monitor regulatory trends, amendments, and judicial rulings, providing strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities. Represent the company in public consultations, industry forums, and regulatory discussions to advocate for favorable regulations and tariff structures. Tariff Optimization & ARR Management Lead the preparation and review of Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) petitions to ensure maximum cost recovery and minimal disallowances. Design and optimize tariff structures, cross-subsidization models, and cost allocation methodologies in line with regulatory guidelines. Develop data-driven strategies to reduce AT&C losses and enhance revenue realization through regulatory interventions. Engage with regulatory commissions (DERC/CERC) to negotiate favorable tariff orders and address compliance concerns. Regulatory Risk Management & Compliance Identify, assess, and mitigate regulatory risks related to tariff disallowances, capex approvals, compliance audits, and subsidy claims. Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all regulatory directives, tariff orders, and policy mandates to prevent penalties and disallowances. Oversee the company?s regulatory filings, petitions, and compliance reports, ensuring adherence to deadlines and regulatory expectations. Conduct impact assessments of new regulations and judicial precedents, advising on necessary business adaptations. Capital Expenditure & Investment Planning Develop a regulatory roadmap for capital investments, ensuring compliance with DERC?s Capital Investment Guidelines. Facilitate the approval process for capital expenditure (Capex) plans, minimizing disallowances and securing in-principle regulatory approvals. Advocate for smart grid initiatives, network augmentation, and digital transformation through regulatory engagement. Collaborate with finance, operations, and legal teams to align capital investment strategies with regulatory frameworks. Stakeholder Engagement & Representation Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, government agencies, and industry associations to drive policy advocacy. Represent the company in regulatory hearings, stakeholder meetings, and policy consultations at DERC, CERC, and MoP. Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to develop compelling regulatory submissions and strategic interventions. Process Enhancement & Team Leadership Lead a team of regulatory professionals, fostering a culture of analytical excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic foresight. Implement best practices in regulatory case management, data analytics, and forecasting to strengthen regulatory preparedness. Conduct internal training and awareness programs to ensure cross-functional alignment on regulatory priorities and compliance requirements.
